Malekhu (Dhading), Oct 21: Norway is to fund for rebuilding six schools at Semjong VDC in the northern Dhading, one of the districts hardest hit by the 'Gorkha' earthquake.
The schools are to be built by the German Aid Agency- GIZ.
All schools at the VDC were completely flattened in the twin powerful earthquakes last year, forcing the students to share a single temporary shelter for study since then.
According to GIZ Nepal's Lekhmani Dhakal, the Norwegian Embassy in Nepal has agreed to provide a fund for rebuilding the Shanti Primary School, Buddha Primary, Indriyadevi Primary, Thala Primary, Gaira Lower Secondary and Thala Secondary school.
Norway's Ambassador to Nepal Kjell Tormod Pettersen and Germany's Ambassador to Nepal Matthias Mayer jointly laid a foundation stone for the construction of a new building of the Shanti Primary School amidst a programme here today.
On the occasion, the Norwegian Ambassador stressed the need of support from all sides for the development of education sector. He expected active participations from all walks of live to complete the construction of schools buildings on time.
The Germany's Ambassador expressed the German Government's willingness to cooperate with Nepal in the efforts meant for educational developments here.
