Kathmandu, Nov 30: The Health Sub-Committee under the Women, Children, Senior Citizen and Social Welfare Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has asked the concerned authority to devise a clear and sustainable policy on medical education.
The 16-point report prepared by the 11-member Health Sub-Committee recommended so, further urging for the effective implementation of the plan, programmes and policies put in place so far towards this end.
According to Committee President Ranju Jha, the Committee on Wednesday endorsed the report with necessary amendment.President Jha said that the directives will be issued to Minister for Health and Education as per the suggestions furnished by the Sub-Committee.
Sub-Committee Coordinator Jivan Pariyar shared that the Committee has asked concerned universities and Nepal Medical Council to take necessary action after taking stock of the availability of human resources of the medical colleges.The Health Sub-Committee was formed last month to study the issues, aberrations and anomalies prevailing in the health and medical sector in the country.
