Pokhara, Sept 23: Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae laid the foundation stone for the construction of the buildings for a school and a campus in separate events held in Pokhara on Thursday.
The buildings of the Gupteshwor Multiple Campus at Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-17 and Saraswati Tika Higher Secondary School at Lekhnath Municipality-17 in Kaski district are going to be constructed by the District Development Committee (DDC), Kaski with the financial assistance of the government of India.
The construction of three-story building of Gupteshwor Campus with 21-room is estimated to cost more than Rs 30 million while the similar amount is estimated for building two-story modern infrastructure for Saraswati Tika Higher Secondary School, according to Narayan Shretsha, Engineer of the DDC, Kaski.
The construction of the buildings is expected to be complete by October, 2017.
On the occasion, Indian envoy Rae said that the government of India had been providing assistance to Nepal in education and health sector among others.
He stated that the latest India visit of the Nepal's Prime Minister, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Foreign Affairs had further bolstered the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Parliamentarian Binda Rana expressed her confidence that the construction of modern building for the campus and school would help these educational institutions provide quality education.
