Kathmandu, Nov 20: A task force formed to draft the national book policy has submitted the draft policy to Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel, suggesting the government to promote book-related industry as the nationally prioritized industry.
The taskforce coordinated by Hari Govind Luitel has suggested the government that it took initiative to build reading culture and organized book fair in the local, provincial and central level to promote book-related industry as the national industry.
Receiving the draft, Education Minister Poudel expressed commitment that the Ministry would implement the suggestion furnished by the taskforce. However, further suggestions would be garnered from the stakeholders before taking initiatives for formulating act on it, he added.
Meanwhile, Minister Poudel was furnished written suggestions from Coordinator of Library Master Plan Draft Taskforce, Dr Tulashi Bhattarai and Coordinator of Library Management and Digitization Taskforce, Indira Dali, on Sunday itself.
