The ANNISU (Revolutionary) associated to the CPN-Maoist has announced agitation stating that the enforcement of grading system in School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations has deprived around 200,000 students of attaining high school education.
Demanding the government enable environment for 200,000 students deprived of further educational attainment for obtaining 'D' and 'E' grades in SLC, the student organization has demanded that the government make school education free and compulsory.
At a face-to-face programme organized here on Monday, ANNISU-(R)'s Valley Special Regional Coordination Committee Coordinator Lokesh Biswokarma said that the private college has commercialized the education sector and tens of thousands poor and helpless students of rural area are at risk of being denied of their pursuit of higher education.
He demanded the government to provide opportunity for poor students for their higher education.
The student wing has put forth a 15-point demand including correction of grading system which was enforced without ample preparation and scrapping of additional fee being charged by private schools and colleges.
